They are then brutally killed by a disfigured, hooded man, who then appears behind Sebastian and attacks him, knocking him unconscious.
Sebastian then awakes in the basement of the Hospital, and after escaping the dangers that lurk within the mental institute, he finds himself thrust into a nightmarish world, where horrific monsters and unimaginable terrors roam.

They will fight alongside companions from the Revenant haven against the Lost, creatures that gave into the bloodlust completely and were transformed into hideous beasts in the process. Code Vein is an anime-style post-apocalyptic vampire action RPG that only vaguely resembles the gorgeous animated short that preceded it.
